Piano recital

Private piano lessons for all ages
To join the One Minute Club, Jaysea had to recognize all the notes written on the Grand Staff in less than 60 seconds. Great job, Jaysea! She has had piano lessons almost a year!
Kate learned notes above and below the staves and also sharp and flat notes and was able to recognize them in under one minute! She has earned the silver badge in the One Minute Club. Congratulations, Kate. You worked hard.
Piano students had a great performance day with their judge, Dr. Helen Brown, earning all blue ribbons! Even though some were nervous, all played their technic (scales, chords, arpeggios and cadences) very well and most of their pieces were nearly perfect.
Blue ribbons are awarded for five categories: 6 is a superior performance, 6 minus is superior with one small area needing improvement; 5 plus is an excellent performance with few errors, 5 is an excellent performance needing polish and a 5 minus is not all pieces were prepared.

Program at Convalescent Center June 15
Keyboard Merits is held in the music room at Barbee Presbyterian Church across from ES High School on Tiger Drive. Go in the door on the north side of the church and follow the yellow signs.
Be sure to bring ALL the music you are playing for judge, Dr. Brown, including memorized music. Before or after your adjudication, perform your recital piece on the grand piano in the auditorium so that you are comfortable with the instrument.
I will be in the hallway outside the music room to get your music in order for the judge. When you are finished, pick up your recital invitations, your music, a certificate from the judge and a treat from me.
Our spring recital is also at Barbee Presbyterian Church in the auditorium. Awards, trophies, ribbons and certificates earned will be presented.
Our first “program” this year will be June 15th at the Convalescent Center on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Choose pieces the residents would enjoy. No memorization needed for this outreach.
