We are wishing the best day to an outstanding pianist!
Forrest has completed “Star Wars” and is starting “Queen”. Great job, Forrest.
Last week’s challenge was speed reading and the results were very close. Many students were under 30 seconds with Forrest, Jason and Mackenzie under 20 seconds. Mackenzie was 13 seconds and 59/100 beating Jason who had 13 seconds and 94/100! Great job students. (The bass clef notes slowed some down.)
Last week we worked on dynamics and articulation by putting together eight Christmas trees. The tree in the center illustrates “pianissimo” for the trunk, the English words “very soft” for the middle and the star at the top is the symbol “pp”. Forrest was the fastest at putting them all together in 20 seconds, beating Della by one second! He can also play pieces fast and lively!
Maddy earned first place in the November worksheets with every week perfect! In the practice challenge for the month, called Pianovember, Maddy is in ninth place among students from all over and practiced 755 songs in the month. She did the most of all my students. Great job, Maddy!
Today is Bridie’s special day and we wish her an extra special birthday! Also, in the Pianovember challenge, she practiced 416 pieces, earning her fifteenth place among piano students all over the world. Congratulations on a fabulous job Bridie!! Proud of her and her mom for keeping track of this.
In the Pianovember challenge, Cheryl’s screen name is Lolalynn. She practiced 710 pages during November and earned 11th place out of 124 students! We are so proud of you Cheryl.
Happy birthday to a talented musician! In the Pianovember Challenge, Henry practiced 288 pieces this month earning the rank of 20th among nationwide piano students. Great job, Henry!
In the November worksheet challenge, Della tied for first place with 4 perfect worksheets. Congrats, Della. (There is no challenge for December.)
Our Christmas program will be Saturday, December 11th at 10:00 at the First United Methodist Church, 1650 Rainbow Blvd. Dress Christmasy for the video! Every one is invited. All will play on the left piano.
Winning worksheets in November were done by Della Andreasen, Jason Harness and Madelyn Maney. Second place winners are Gianna Maney, Evelynn Stewart and Champion Tribble. During December we will focus on sight reading.
Winter break is December 27 – 31. No lessons except by special request.
Our preparation for Keyboard Merits will begin the middle of December. This is when a judge observes your technic and performance of chosen pieces. You will earn ribbons and trophies for this. I urge all students to participate in this.
