Students will entertain the residents of Excelsior Nursing and Rehab on Saturday, October 26th at 10:30 a.m. in the dining area. Music does not need to be memorized. Costumes are welcome as they enjoy seeing what you wear! They plan to give you treats at the close of the program. It will last about 35 minutes. Pictures will be at the end.
Christmas music will be available the week of Oct. 21st. You have 3 options: (1) You can purchase new music which will be yours forever. (2) You can choose music which you would like for a Christmas gift from me. (3) You can borrow used music and play whatever you like and return it to me. This includes loose sheets and many books. We will have a Christmas program in December at EN&R. I am thinking Saturday, December 14th; please let me know of conflicts.
The Essay contest is open to students grade 7th-12th. The theme this time is “Music…a Magic Carpet“. The cash award is $75 to the winner of each state. Genevieve Keighley won last year so she is not eligible to enter again. The essays are due by January 10th.
If you are interested in composing, start thinking about it now! I have staff paper and can give you suggestions but it must be your idea.
